Please verify you are using only 3 percent hydrogen peroxide, as stronger concentrations can be harmful. Again, do not swallow the rinse.

This oil contains a compound called eugenol, which has mild numbing and antimicrobial properties. Clove oil can be applied directly to the painful area using a cotton swab.

Peppermint naturally contains menthol, a compound linked to cooling and calming sensations, which may alleviate discomfort.
